The incident took place yesterday when one Badami demanded Rs 250 back from the accused, Chandrasen alias Pappu, which she had lent him, they said, adding, instead of returning the money, he insulted and threatened her, police said.
Later in the evening, the accused along with his sons, Kedar, Manvendra and Digamber, went to the farm of Gulab Singh, Badami's son, and thrashed him, after which they dragged him to his house and set its roof afire, they said.
The injured was admitted to district hospital last night for treatment, the DSP said.
On the complaint of victim's family, an FIR has been registered against the accused under relevant sections, Station House Officer of Refinery police station, Chote Lal Yadav said.
