Dassault Systemes to acquire Dutch firm Quintiq for $337 mn

French software company Dassault Systemes today said it will acquire Netherlands-based firm Quintiq for around 250 million euros (about USD 337 million).

Quintiq is a provider of on-premise and on-cloud supply chain and operations planning & optimisation software.

In a statement today, Dassault announced: "the signing of a definitive share purchase agreement for Dassault Systemes to acquire Quintiq for approximately 250 million euro."

With 800 employees, Quintiq, whose offerings include production, logistics and workforce planning applications, is rated as a leader in the market by top industry analysts and its solutions are used today by 250 customers, at 1,000 sites, in more than 90 countries, it added.

"Dassault Systemes B V, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dassault Systemes, and shareholders of Quintiq have entered into a definitive share purchase agreement on July 23, 2014," it said.

Completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including antitrust clearances in Germany and Austria, it added.

Quintiq solutions provides various solutions to Novelis, ASML, Lafarge, AkzoNobel, ArcelorMittal, DHL, Walmart, DB Schenker and TNT.

Besides, the firm is enabling full operations planning at Brussels Airport, KLM, Canadian National and the Federal Aviation Administration.

"Quintiq will expand Dassault Systemes' DELMIA brand, adding a new product line of Operations Planning and Optimisation to the existing ones of Digital Manufacturing and Manufacturing Operations Management," Dassault said.

The firm provides Dassualt a new reach into industries like metals, mining, oil & gas, rail, delivery and freight, it added.
