The MeT office had forecast rains or snow in the region today but the weather remained mainly dry with traces of rains at some places.
The local MeT office has predicted rains and thundershowers in lower hills and rains or snow in mid and higher hills over the next three days from March 2 to March 4 and dry weather in the region on March 5 and 6.
The minimum temperatures rose marginally and Keylong recorded a low of minus 1.3 degrees Celsius, followed by Kalpa, Manali, Solan, Bhuntar, Sundernagar, Dharamsala, Shimla, Palampur, Una and Nahan.
The winter rain deficit from January 1 to February 28 was 72 per cent while the post-monsoon deficit was 46 per cent and inadequate rains were causing worry to farmers and orchardists and also to the government as it could create water shortage during summers.
