Defence minister, Army chief visit OD Fort in Allahabad

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Army chief General Bipin Rawat visited the ordnance depot today and discussed arrangements for the Kumbh Mela scheduled to be held here early next year.

"They were briefed in detail regarding the security and administrative set-up by the local military authority in view of the Kumbh Mela," an official release said.

The delegation visited various places of historical and religious importance in the ordnance depot fort here, it said, adding Divisional Commissioner Ashish Goyal met the defence minister.
