Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel today welcomed decision of party's parliamentary board to declare Narendra Modi as BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate for 2014 general elections and asserted the party will "romp home with thumping majority" in assembly and Lok Sabha polls.
A large number of Delhi BJP leaders congratulated the Gujarat Chief Minister at party headquarters at 11 Ashoka Road here.
"Anointment of Modi will motivate the party cadres. The BJP-led NDA will romp home with thumping majority in coming assembly polls as well as Lok Sabha polls. Modi is hugely popular among all sections of society, especially among the youth," Goel said.
"The massive development in Gujarat in the last 14 years under Modi's leadership speaks volumes about his capabilities as a strong administrator with vision and commitment. His popularity has only increased with the passage of each day," he said.
