Carrying placards and shouting slogans, students of Women College Parade staged a protest here and demanded capital punishment for the accused in the gang-rape case.
Students of different schools of Kathua district, about 75 kms from here, assembled at Mukhkerji chowk and staged a dharna demanding strict action against the accused.
They also condemned the police action against protesters at India Gate.
J&K Samaj Sudhar committee and Vichar Kranti Manch also held protest at Press Club Jammu and demanded capital punishment for the accused.
Residents of Kunjwani area here took out a candle march rally and prayed for early recovery of the victim.
No untoward incident was reported during the protests, police said.
