The accused identified as Aslam Javed, a resident of Jyoti Colony worked as a meter reader with Delhi Jal Board at Zonal Revenue Office in Yamuna Vihar.
"The complainant had approached ACB and stated that he was an unemployed senior citizen and Javed, meter reader of Delhi Jal Board was demanding a bribe of Rs 500 from him for replacing the faulty water meter installed at his residence," said V Renganathan, additional commissioner of police (ACB).
A case against Javed has been registered and the investigation is in progress, he added.
