The situation normalised only after people were driven out by the police.
In view of the incident, police force has been deployed in urban as well as rural areas today.
Meanwhile, members of BJP's trade cell today held a protest outside the office of Managing Director of the power corporation on University Road here.
Led by chief of the cell Vineet Agrawal, the members protested there for hours and raised slogans against the Uttar Pradesh government.
The protesters also gheraoed officials of the corporation.
Agrawal said long power cuts have been taking place in all times of the day.
"The people of the city are facing power cuts while the MD of the power corporation has gone for training. The responsibility of the power houses has been given to untrained officials which is why frequent power cuts are taking place," he alleged.
