A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary A P Padhi, where he suggested clustering of similar SDGs and constituting subject-specific thematic groups for each targeted area.
"It was decided in the meeting that a credible, professional agency having Odisha experience will be picked up as technical partner for the purpose. Around three inter-connected documents will be formulated," an official statement said.
These will be the Vision Document-2030, a separate seven-year strategy from 2017-18 to 2023-24 to convert the longer visions into implementable policies, and the third document would be a three-year Action Document from 2017-18 to 2019-20, aligning it with the financial resources, the statement said.
Planning and Convergence Department would be the nodal
department for the exercise, it said, adding the SDG cells would be set up in each department by the first week of July.
Focus areas like poverty eradication, sustainable production and consumption, health and well-being, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, clean energy, social peace and justice, climate change action, economic growth, industry, innovation, infrastructure, sustainable cities and communities, among others, were identified for inclusion in the Vision Document-2030.
These goals have been clustered to seven broad categories and seven thematic working groups were constituted to look into them, the statement said.
"The thematic working groups will submit their suggestions within two months, which will be put up to the government for consideration before onward transmission to NITI Aayog," Padhi told reporters.
