Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee would organise a protest against inconvenience caused to people due "unplanned and haphazard" implementation of demonetisation.
'Aam Aadmi Nagrik Asuvidha Virodh Diwas' will be observed at all district headquarters on Thursdayagainst Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government for implementing demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes without any proper planning, HPCC president Sukhvinder Singh Sukku said.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken the decision in a haste and there is not a even single trade or person who was not affected by the demonetisation of currency notes as neither adequate currency was published nor cash was made available in ATMs," he said.
HPCC chief said that Modi government had targeted black money possessed merely by 5 per cent of population but the decision had put 95 per cent population in great inconvenience, even leading to death of some persons.
"Due to the ill-conceived decision of BJP government, people now had to wait for hours to deposit the old currency notes at banks and around 50 persons had died while waiting in queues," he alleged.
He said that PM Modi, instead of issuing statements at public meeting, should issue statement in Parliament and he along with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley should apologise to the people of the country by taking responsibility for the inconvenience.
