DG Prisons Dept reviews security in Central Jail in Srinagar

Director General Prisons Department S K Mishra today reviewed the security and management of the Central Jail here, and stressed on maintenance of healthy and hygienic atmosphere besides availability of better health care facilities and diet to the prisoners in accordance with jail manual.
Mishra visited the Central Jail Srinagar, also inspected ongoing construction work and issued on the spot directions for its completion, an official spokesman said.
He said the DGP interacted with the Jail inmates as well as staff and inspected various vocational training programmes being held there.
"After inspecting Jail premises, the DGP chaired the meeting with jail Superintendent, Officer Commanding guarding the outer parameter of the Jail and Medical officer and stressed for maintaining healthy and hygienic atmosphere in and around the premises, besides availability of better health care facilities and healthy diet to the prisoners as per the provisions of state Jail Manual," the spokesman said.
