With his expulsion revoked, Ram Gopal Yadav today said he was in the party all along even as the Rajya Sabha MP preferred to maintain silence on his bitter remarks made earlier against Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.
"I was at home (SP) only. I was removed from the Samajwadi Party. Netaji (Mulayam) was never against me... He will never do anything against me on his own. Now that I am back, I thank netaji," Ram Gopal told reporters, choosing to ignore questions on his bitter remarks against the SP supremo after expulsion.
Talking to reporters here on October 25 after his expulsion, Ram Gopal had said that Mulayam was "jealous" of his son and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's success.
In a new twist to the family feud in the ruling Samajwadi Party, Mulayam Singh earlier today revoked the expulsion of his cousin Ram Gopal, weeks after the Rajya Sabha MP was expelled for six years after he publicly sided with Akhilesh.
70-year-old Ram Gopal, who was shown the door last month in the midst of a raging feud in the Yadav clan, will continue as leader of SP in Rajya Sabha and party spokesman among other posts, Mulayam said in a release.
