Diamond Park Project to come up in Indore

The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to set up a Diamond Park Project under PPP (Public Private Partnership) mode in its commercial capital of Indore, an official said today.
"The decision to set up Diamond Park Project on 254 acres area in Indore was taken by the state Cabinet recently," a Public Relations department official said today.
Madhya Pradesh is the only diamond-producing state in the country.
The diamond park will be set up at Rangwasa village by Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam, in which Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will be developed on 134.2 acres and domestic industries will be established on the remaining 120.03 acres, the official said.
Of the 134.2 acres of SEZ, 95 industrial plots will be developed on the core area of 44.52 acres, while hotel, township, auditorium, hospital, school, training centre, administrative building among others will be built on the remaining 53.33 acres of the non-core area, he said.
Basic amenities like roads, water, electricity, streetlights, boundary wall, sewer network, common effluent treatment plant, plantation among others will be developed on the remaining 36.47 acres by private developers.
On the proposed domestic production area of 120.03 acres, industrial plots will be developed on 73.12 acres and parking, road, electricity, water, solid waste management and other facilities on the remaining 46.90 acres, he added.
