Even though Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan share a close bond, the actress says she can never think of asking him to push the release date of "Dilwale" to avoid clash with her film "Bajirao Mastani".
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed period love saga and Shah Rukh-Kajol's "Dilwale" are set to release this December 18.
There were reports that 29-year-old Deepika, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh in "Om Shanti Om", called the 49-year-old star for a possible date change.
"When you are working on a film like 'Bajirao Mastani', you have very little time or headspace for even getting involved in something like that.
"The only thing you can do as an actor is do your part with honesty and conviction and leave the rest to the professionals like the producers and the director to take the call. I have a very personal equation with Shah Rukh. I would never do something like that," Deepika said here when asked to comment on the speculation.
"Bajirao Mastani" also stars Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. This is not the first time Bhansali and Shah Rukh are pitted against each other at the box-office.
The director's "Saawariya" and Shah Rukh-starrer "Om Shanti Om" released on the same date in 2007. "Saawariya" did not do well at the box office.
