DJB honours its revenue staff

Delhi Jal Board (DJB) today honoured its revenue department employees who delivered "exemplary" performance during the third billing cycle of 2015-16.
This initiative was taken to encourage employees and officials of the revenue department, which is aiming at completing six billing cycles every year and provide efficient services to the consumers, the Board said in a statement.
During the function, Zonal Revenue Offices which performed "exceptionally" well were given recommendation letter and cash prize, it informed.
The first prize of Rs 35,000 was given to Pratap Nagar zone. Second and third prizes of Rs 30,000 and Rs 25,000 were given to Jhandewalan zone and Burari zone respectively.
The prize money will be equally distributed among zonal revenue officer, meter invigilators, meter readers and computer operators who made more than 90 per cent bills. Apart from this, under the individual category, three meter readers who performed well were given prizes.
The three meter readers Jaswant Singh, Randheer Singh and Lokesh Kumar received first, second and third prizes and were given Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively along with recommendation letters.
Water Minister and DJB chairman Kapil Mishra lauded the employees for their performance saying it is very important that those who are working hard to ensure efficient services be rewarded.
"Revenue is an extremely important function of the Delhi Jal Board and I extend my heartiest congratulations to all those employees and officials of the Revenue Department who have won prizes for good performance.
"It is policy of the Delhi Government to provide potable water supply to all and thus, it is very important that those who are working hard to ensure efficient services to the consumers should be rewarded," he said.
The function, held at Delhi Maharashtra Education and Cultural Society in Aaram Bagh, was also attended by DJB CEO Keshav Chandra, member (finance) SNA Najmi and director (revenue) Nidhi Shrivastava.
