Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday warned members against challenging the Chair's decision on time given to members to speak during a discussion.
His remarks came in response to former Union minister and Apna Dal leader Anupriya Patel saying that she should be given enough time to speak when the House was having discussions on two bills regarding Jammu and Kashmir.
Prior to Patel, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal spoke in the Lok Sabha.
When Patel urged that she should be given enough time, Birla said that one should not challenge the Chair.
"Whatever time is given to a member, it is my final decision," he said.
In response, Patel said that she was not challenging the Chair and was only seeking some more time to speak.
