Drug peddler arrested with poppy in Samba

An alleged drug peddler was on Monday arrested in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district and poppy was seized from his possession, police said.

Shamsher Lal Bhagat was intercepted by a police team on suspicious grounds at Channi Kartholi belt and during frisking, 2.6 kilograms of poppy was recovered from him, police said.

The accused was arrested on spot and a case was registered at police station Bari-Brahmana. Further probe is on, police said.
