Punjab minister Vijay Inder Singla said on Monday the state government has sanctioned Rs 100 crore for development works in Sultanpur Lodhi in connection with the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of first Sikh master Guru Nanak Dev next year.
Guru Nanak lived in Sultanpur Lodhi for some years before setting out on his travels to deliver his message among the masses.
The state PWD minister instructed his department's officers and engineers to ensure timely completion of all development works.
An official release quoting Singla said the Punjab government has sanctioned money for various works like widening of link roads, construction of bridges and culverts, and building of a new rest house in Sultanpur Lodhi.
