Eastern Group launches 'Vision 2020' initiative

The Rs 500-crore Eastern Group has launched a new brand initiative -- Vision 2020 -- to encourage athletics by giving Rs 5 lakh to the management of St George School at Kothamangalam.
Launching the event, Navas Meeran, Chairman, Eastern Group said it is betting big on sports and athletics to promote its brand.
"We are very positive on the growth of sports in general and athletics in particular going forward. We want to weave our new brand initiative by associating with events," he said at a function held here yesterday.
St George School, Kothamangalam is known at the national level for its track-record in nurturing well-known athletes, who have won medals at the national and international events.

An exhaustive programme is on the anvil at the school to turn it into one of the best athletic academy in Asia. The corporate branding fund was handed over to the school management by Eastern Group chairman Navas Meeran.
The 'Vision 2020' programme also includes a Visual Analysing Centre, an all-weather Training Centre and a high-tech Gymnasium.
