EC issues notification for polling in Udhampur LS seat

Election authorities today issued notification for filing of nominations by candidates contesting elections for Udhampur-Kathua Lok Sabha seat which goes to polls on April 17.
The candidates can file their nominations from 11 AM to 3 PM from today up to March 26. The scrutiny of nomination papers would be held on March 27 while the last date for withdrawal nomination is on March 29, returning officer Jatindra Kumar Singh said.
Meanwhile, in view of the general elections, district administration has imposed restrictions for carrying any licensed arms during and till conclusion of polls within the territorial jurisdiction of Udhampur district.

According to the order, it is obligatory for every license holder residing in the district to deposit their arms with the nearest police station forthwith.
