The Menya Criminal court also adjourned the retrial of 161 Muslim Brotherhood members for taking part in violent clashes related to the same case, state-run MENA news agency reported.
In May this year, the court had sentenced in absentia 37 Muslim Brotherhood members to death while 492 others got life in prison sentences in the same case.
The incident took place in August last year when a crowd in Matay city in Menya Governorate had attacked and burned down a police station.
Morsi himself is currently in prison over charges of killing peaceful protesters, espionage, escaping from prison during the January 25 Revolution in 2011, insulting the judiciary and handing over documents of national security to Qatari intelligence through the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera news channel.
He has not been sentenced in any case so far.
