BJP state President Laxmi Kant Bajpai in a statement alleged that the SP national convention was being organised by misusing government money in the state, where the Samajwadi Party is in power.
Dubbing Mulayam's re-election as "purely a drama", he alleged that SP was party of one family and the post of its supremo would remain with the head of the family forever.
"What is the relevance of election? Netaji's (Mulayam) dream of moving to Delhi has been shattered and he is frustrated," Bajpai said.
Bajpai termed JD(U) President Sharad Yadav's sharing dais with Mulayam as an effect of increasing influence of BJP and said JD(U) has no base in Uttar Pradesh.
