Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipoentiary of Ethiopia in India, Asfaw Dingamo today said India is the second largest foreign investor with nearly 600 companies operating in the country, situated near the Horn of Africa, in sectors like pharmaceutical and manufacturing.
Addressing a session organised by BCCI here today, he said the Ethiopian mission in India has arranged a visit of high-level Indian business delegation to that country in January 2017.
Ethiopia had set a target of achieving zero carbon emission level by 2025, he said adding that low levels of pollution was a great inducement for making further investments in the country.
He said Indian investments would get secured market access to countries of COMESA and EU, besides Australia, Canada, the US and Japan under Generalised System of Preferences.
Ethiopian Airlines at present operates four flights daily from Mumbai and Delhi to Adis Ababa.
"We want to expand airlinks to other Indian cities as well", he said.
