Special judge A Bhattacharyya while adjourning the hearing extended the judicial custody of Paul for 10 days.
Meanwhile, Paul's lawyer Angshuman Bora said he had submitted a petition for removal of Special Public Prosecutor Bijon Mahajan from the case claiming he was not neutral.
Paul was arrested on November 4 in connection with alleged cash for job scam and other cases of corruption in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).
APSC Member Brig (retd) Ranjit Borthakur has been named by the government as its Acting Chairman.
