A Guwahati court today adjourned the hearing of the bail application of former APSC Chairman Rakesh Kumar Paul, arrested on charge of corruption, and asked the police to produce case diary at the next hearing on December 13.
Special judge A Bhattacharyya while adjourning the hearing extended the judicial custody of Paul for 10 days.
Meanwhile, Paul's lawyer Angshuman Bora said he had submitted a petition for removal of Special Public Prosecutor Bijon Mahajan from the case claiming he was not neutral.
Paul was arrested on November 4 in connection with alleged cash for job scam and other cases of corruption in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).
APSC members Basanta Kumar Doley and Samedur Rahman, besides Assistant Controller of Examinations of APSC Pabitra Kaibarta were also arrested later.
APSC Member Brig (retd) Ranjit Borthakur has been named by the government as its Acting Chairman.
