Extra trains for Mudia Poono fair

The North Central railway has startedrunning extra trains for pilgrims going to the 'Mudia Poono' fair in Goverdhan, a railway official said today.
"Two special trains between Mathura and Alwar have started running. A special train is ready to run between Mathura and Kasganj provided the crowd increases," Divisional Commercial Manager (DRM office, Agra) Dr Sanchit Tyagi said.
He said that the route of two passenger trains - Jhansi- Agra passenger and Gwalior-Agra passenger - has been extended upto Mathura junction.
Similarly, additional coaches have been added in two passenger trains, he said.
According to Tyagi, instead of 13 coaches, now Mathura- Jaipur and Mathura-Alwar passenger trains would run with 20 coaches each.
He said, on the basis of influx of pilgrims at the platform, the stoppage of even express trains has been extended by 5 to 7 minutes.
While two ticket booking counters have been added for the mela at the main booking counter, four booking counters have been added towards the second entry booking counter, he disclosed.
The railways, he said, has tied up with UPSRTC for the availability of buses.
The pilgrims continuously are being guided about the availability of trains and other facilities by public address system, he claimed adding that extra arrangements would be available till July 11.
