"We have recovered 17 number of fake currency notes of 500 denomination from a student of a local college," said Bangirposi Police Station IIC Suresh Chandra Patra.
Patra, however, said that the main accused in the fake currency note case, a vegetable vendor, was absconding since arrest of the college student.
The college student claimed that he was given the fake currency notes by the vegetable vendor, police said.
