Subrata Adhikary (45) of Corn Field Road in Gariahat police station area was arrested late last night for running an organised racket along with others duping people by promising them jobs in central government, a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
"They gave advertisement in leading dailies announcing huge vacancies in the name of Agricultural Development Trust of India, thereby alluring educated job-seekers with a central government job," he said.
However, after the training they were neither provided any job nor were their money returned, he said adding that the probe was started after Tathagata Mukherjee (23), an MBA graduate from Tala, lodged a complaint with the police.
"We have started a probe and initiated a look-out for the rest of the members of the gang," he said.
