The FICN, in the denomination of demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1,000, were seized near the Border Out Post in Kaliachak following a tip-off, BSF officials said.
While patrolling the area, BSF personnel found two suspected villagers running out of an orchard and challenged them, but they managed to escape, they said.
The patrol party then searched the area and recovered three plastic-wrapped bundles of FICN in a carton. The packets contained demonetised notes with a face value of Rs 11,80,000. There were 881 notes of Rs 1,000 and 299 notes of Rs 500, officials said.
