Shivprasad Kosre (42) yesterday went to the fields to cut his paddy crop but was shocked to find it damaged. When he found that the yield was less than expected, he allegedly hanged himself from a tree, Barghat police station Assistant Sub-Inspector Prasanna Sharma said.
When Kosre did not return home by night, his family members got worried and searched for him in the field. When they found his body hanging from the tree, they informed the police.
The body was handed over to the deceased's family after post-mortem, he said.
A case has been registered in this connection and further investigation is on, he said.
