Father and son slip from a running train; die on the spot

A man and his son accidentally slipped from a running train after which they died on the spot near Gullipadu area under Nakkapall mandal in the district, a Government Railway Police (GRP) official said here today.
The deceased have been identified as A Venkat Rao (45) and A Naveen (17), who are natives of Kondakinguva village of Ramabhadrapuram mandal of Vizianagaram district, GRP sub-inspector Y Rambabu said.
Venkat Rao, who was a worker in a brick factory in the Rajahmundry area and his family members were returning to their hometown by train.
Due to heavy rush in the train, Venkata Rao and his son Naveen were sitting on the footboard of the train.

Naveen accidentally slipped from the train and in a bid to save his son, Venkata Rao also slipped from the train, after which both were killed on the spot.
Co-passengers, who noticed the incident, alerted the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
The GRP registered a case and recovered their bodies from the spot and sent them for postmortem.
