The accused identified as Nataraj, a daily wager, in an inebriated state, reportedly molested and sexually abused her on the night of November 13, police said.
His wife had gone to attend a condolence meeting.
The girl, a Class 9 student, informed her mother, when she returned home the next day, based on which a complaint was lodged, police said, adding, Nataraj was arrested past midnight last night.
