FDA team raids sweet shops, seize samples ahead Diwali

To keep adulterated food products at bay ahead of Diwali, a team of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) department today raided several shops and outlets here selling various sweets and other edible items under supervisions of City Magistrate Brahm Dev Yadav.
An FDA official said that FDA's designated officer Vineet Kumar told that an FDA team raided 'Bikanerwala' sweets and restaurant at Ambedkar Road and 'Aggarwal sweets' opposite MMG Hospital today morning and seized 4 samples each of sweets from both outlets.
Thereafter, the FDA team reached 'Jugal Bakery' at GT Road Ghantaghar and picked up samples of cookies and biscuits being packed in Diwali gift packs.

Sample of besan and milk were also taken from various shops in Modinagar, the officer said.
