FILCA film festival stars from May 24

The 13th FILCA International Film Festival, organised by the Film Lovers Cultural Association, will begin here on May 24.
The week-long festival, being held in co-operation with Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, state Culture department and Federation of Film Societies of India would be inaugurated by Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
A retrospective of legendary Russian film-maker Andrei Takovsky would be the highlight of the festival. His films 'Sacrifice', 'Nostalgia', 'Stalker', 'The Mirror', 'Solaris', and 'Ivan's Childhood' would be screened, the organisers said in a release here.
In the country focus section, Hungarian films including 'The Man from London', 'Red Psalm', 'Taxiderma' and 'Mephisto' would be shown.
Girish Kasaravalli's Kannada film 'Koormavathara' would be the opening movie of the festival.
