An FIR has been lodged against a JD(U) MLA and four others in connection with the murder of a man.
The victim's mother lodged an FIR at Pakribarawan police station against the ruling party MLA Pradeep Mahto and his four associates within hours after her son Pappu Mahto was shot dead by unidentified assailants yesterday, police said.
Mahto was shot dead on the Pakribarawan-Kashichak road at Devibigaha while he was travelling by a jeep, police said.
Incidently, the victim's father Shailendra Mahto was murdered 12 years ago in which the JD(U) MLA was named as an accused, police said.
The JD(U) MLA has denied the charge that he was involved in anyway in the murder of Pappu Mahto and said that he would come unscathed in the probe.
