Fire in treater plant in Sivasagar

A major fire broke out in the electrostatic emulsion treater plant of the Oil India Ltd in Moran oil township in upper Assam's Sivasagar district today causing loss worth several crores of Rupees, an OIL official said.
No casualty has been reported so far, the official said.
The accidental fire took place in the oil production gadget costing several crores of Rupees, the official said.
The fire could not reach the nearby oil tanks as fire tenders from OIL, ONGC and Assam Gas Company Ltd doused the towering flames after battling the fire for four hours, he added.
