Lokayukta Police arrested an assistant sub inspector posted with the fire brigade for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 2,500 today.
"The ASI, Bhagirath Dabi, was caught red-handed on the complaint of a truck owner, Kailash Saini," Lokayukta's Superintendent of Police (SP), Virendra Singh told reporters.
Saini's truck had caught fire on June 6 in Manglya area following which he had filed a report in Lasudia police station.
For availing insurance benefit, Saini needed a report from the fire office and Dabi demanded Rs 2,500 for providing the same, the SP said.
On being informed, Lokayukta police laid a trap and caught Dabi.
A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been filed against the ASI in this regard, he added.
