The first India-US Policy Planning talks would be held in New Delhi this week, the United States said.
The two-day talks, beginning today, would be led from the US side by the Director of Policy Planning, David McKean.
"These talks were established at the 2015 US-India Strategic and Commercial Dialogue as part of a New Diplomacy Partnership between the United States and India," the State Department said.
While in New Delhi, Director McKean will meet with officials from various Indian government ministries and think tanks, it said.
On November 19, McKean will travel to Burma for meetings with foreign affairs experts and civil society representatives to discuss the outcome of the elections and Burma's reform process.
