"I am so happy to be part of the Hyderabad team. I was representing Bangalore in IBL (now shelved Indian Badminton League). I thank the team management who chose me. I am looking forward to this tournament, so many exciting matches. I hope I can prove myself in the tournament. I was injured for quite a long time. I am getting back. I have started my regular training," he said, speaking at an event where the Hyderabad Hunters announced its team members.
"It is always going to be tough to reach top 10. But, I have the game. I have the experience. I should be getting back to the top 10 in a few months time," he said.
Kashyap said he is looking forward to the face-offs with his colleagues like K Srikanth and HS Prannoy among others in the PBL.
He said he can learn from top seed international players like Lee Chong Wei and Markis Kido and Carsten Mogensen who are part of the Hyderabad team.
The Hyderabad franchise also boasts of international top seed players like Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia), Markis Kido, (Indonesia), Carsten Mogensen (Denmark) and Supanida Katethong (Thailand).
Noting that he learnt a lot from Kido as both were teammates in the IBL, Nandagopal said he hoped to learn from Kido and Mogensen, both Olympic winners, this time too.
