SR to operate special trains on Christmas and new year

To clear extra rush of passengers on the eve of Christmas and new year eve, Southern Railway will operate a special train between Kochuveli and Lokmanya Tilak stations.
Kochuveli-Lokmanya Tilak super fast special will leave Kochuveli at 04.30 a m on December 30 and will arrive at Lokmanya Tilak at 12.40 p m on the following day, a railway release said today.
In the return direction, the train will leave Lokmanya Tilak at 2.20 p m on December 31 to reach Kochuveli at 8.45 pm on January 1, 2016.
Similarly, Kochuveli-Mumbai CST special will leave Kochuveli at 08.45 a m on January 2 to arrive Mumbai CST at 3.15 on the following day.

In the return direction, the special train will leave Mumbai CST at 4.40 p m on January 3 and reach Kochuveli at 12.30 a m the next day, the release said.
The train will pass through major stations like Kollam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Shoranur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod, Mangaluru Jn, Udupi, Karwar, Ratnagiri and Thane, it said.
Mangaluru-Chennai superfast special will leave Mangaluru at 10.30 a m tomorrow and pass through Kasargod, Kozhikode, Shoranur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Arakkonam to arrive Chennai Central at 03.30 a m on December 26.
