Tiwari is a 1985-batch officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IAAS).
The competent authority has approved the proposal of the Department of Revenue for extension of central deputation tenure of Tiwari for a period of three months -- from January 14, 2016 to April 13, 2016 or until further orders -- the Department of Personnel and Training said.
Officials said he has been given the extension to ensure continuity for the completion of key projects being undertaken by FIU related to modernisation and surveillance.
It is also responsible for coordinating and strengthening efforts of national and international intelligence, investigation and enforcement agencies in pursuing global efforts against money laundering and related crimes.
