Five-and-half-year-old girl raped by youth in Rajasthan

A five-and-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth following which the accused was arrested, in Hatwara area here, police said today.
The girl was playing with other children in her building premises last evening when the accused Sakir alias Hazi (20) lured her and took her to the dumping ground adjacent to the building, they said.
Subsequently, he raped her and fled from the spot. On hearing the victim crying, the other children informed their parents, they said.
Victim's father, who runs a small tiffin centre, complained to Sodala Police about the incident, they said.
On the basis of his complaint, an FIR was registered under section 376 (rape) of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act against the accused, they said.

He was arrested late last night and a local court today sent the him on one-day police remand, they said.
The victim's medical examination was done today, they added.
