The modus operandi of the gang was to strike friendship with girls and then win their confidence by offering them gifts and taking them to picnics, said city police commissioner A B Venkateswara Rao.
"Once they have won the confidence of girls, the accused would take them either to their rooms or to hotels and offer them spiked soft drinks. After the girls fall unconscious, they will shoot blue films," Rao said.
He, however, did not specify whethter the accused forced themselves upon the girls or are mere facilitators for tricking them.
The crime came to light after one of the victims blew the lid off by approaching police, the officer said, adding that the gang has been operational over last one year.
"The accused were booked under provisions of Nirbhaya Act and sections of Indian Penal Code," he said without elaborating.
