Five killed, seven injured in lightning

Murshidabad superintendent of police Humayun Kabir said all of them were watching an under 13 local football match in the village when the lightning struck.

The dead and the injured were aged between 12 years and 17 years, he said.

Chief Medical Officer, Health Ajoy Kumar Chakraborty said four of them had died on the spot, while one succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The condition of two of the injured was critical, he added.
