The surrendered Maoists were carrying rewards on their heads. All of them were part of Galikonda Dalam of Maoists, and were active for the last five to six years, Duggal said in a statement.
They were inspired by other surrendered Maoists who had now joined the mainstream.
The ultras were identified as Vanthala Rajitha alias Kusi (18), Korra Malleswara Rao (24), Pangi Mahesh (20), S Mahesh and S Paramesh. All of them are from Koyyuru mandal in Vizag agency.
