"The arrested militants include local commander Asad Khan, Shahid Usman, Fawad Khan, Shahid Ansari and Ssman," he said.
Raza said the group was operating the al-Qaeda network from Karachi, adding that they were also involved in various crimes and were planning a terror attack.
Ten kilogrammes of explosives were also seized from the operatives.
The police on Monday also killed the mastermind of the bomb attacks on the convoy of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto in 2007.
