Mohan Arora (65), an auto-parts trader, consumed some poisonous substance while his wife Krishna Arora (62), his sons - Vineet Arora (40) and Abhishek (21) - and his daughter-in-law Puja Arora allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves last night, SSP Meerut Ravinder Gauda said.
"The incident came to light when Mohan's clerk and neighbhours informed the TP Nagar police station after no one opened the door this morning despite repeated knocking," he said, adding a police team broke the door to recover the bodies.
The notes said the family was facing financial problems after Mohan suffered huge losses in his business, he added.
The TP Nagar police is probing the case. The bodies have been sent for postmortem.
