Prime accused B Sunil Kumar and his associates allegedly kidnapped one Vasuram Prasad, a resident of Tadipatri town in Anantapur district, who was subsequently killed and later his body was set on fire, police said.
On February 19, Prasad's body was found near Chandrapallivanka lake under Jaladurgam police station of Kurnool district and during the course of investigation, the role of Sunil Kumar and his associates came to light in the alleged abduction and murder of Prasad, they said adding the accused demanded ransom after kidnapping Prasad.
