Ten sheeps, reared by two women, were killed and five seriously injured reportedly by some wild animals, police said.
The women had left the flock of 35 sheep for grazing near Pykara, about 20 Kms from here, yesterday afternoon.
The animals usually return to their shed by late evening but last night they did not come back.
On search this morning, badly mauled bodies of 10 sheeps were found scattered near Pykara falls, while five were fighting for their lives, police said.
However, there was no trace of the remaining sheeps.
The Forest Department officials suspect that some wild animals, like wild dogs, wolves or leopard, might have dragged the sheeps deep into the jungle.
Senior officials from Forest Department and Sheep Breeding Centre reached the spot for investigation, police said.
