Maketmen said increased buying in line with pick up in demand and short supply in physical markets mainly brought the rise here in future price of castorseed.
Rise in export demand also helped to boost trading sentiments to some extent, they added.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed prices for April contract gained Rs 50, or 1.19 per cent, to Rs 4,263 per quintal in an open interest of 52,870 lots.
Most active March-month contract increased by Rs 46, or 1.11 per cent, to Rs 4,190 per quintal with an open interest of 1,68,120 lots.
