Forest ranger arrested

A forest ranger was
arrested on the charge of illegally releasing a smuggled wood laden vehicle, police said today.
Dibakar Panda, forest ranger of Tomka in Jajpur district, was arrested yesterday as he released the vehicle seized by forest officials last year, a police official said.
A jeep laden with smuggled Sal wood was seized last year by forest officials of Tomka and it was parked inside the Tomka range office. Panda had facilitated to free the seized vehicle in exchange of money, he said.
